The merger of Valley State Bank with Security State Bank brings together two local banks that share a commitment to serving our respective western Kansas communities.

An important next step in this transition is to combine our core systems, products and digital banking platforms. The following guide provides essential information about key dates, new account features and benefits, and details on accessing our digital banking platform.

Key Dates & Times

Week of Nov. 25

  • New Security debit cards begin mailing out
  • Take note of your Bill Pay information as payees, eBills and alerts will not carry over to the new system

Dec. 6

  • Syracuse and Garden City branches close at 5:00pm local time and remain closed through the weekend for the conversion
  • Online & Mobile Banking will go into inquiry only status at 5:00pm CT (no transactions allowed)
  • Telephone Banking unavailable after 5:00pm CT and will be discontinued
  • Continue using your current debit card until 3:00am CT on Dec. 9

Dec. 9 – Go Live

  • Security branches open at normal hours
  • Activate and begin using your new Security debit card

Dec. 10

  • Online Banking and Bill Pay will be accessible on Security’s system. An enrollment email will be sent after 10:00am CT that morning
  • The Security Mobile Banking App is available for download

Current Users - What you need to know

Online and Mobile Banking and Bill Pay will go into inquiry only status at 5:00pm CT on December 6. All transactions, bill payments, or transfers will need to be completed before this time.

Please note that Bill Pay data will not transfer over to the new system. We encourage you to save your payee information and payment history for re-enrollment.

First-Time Login

  • On the morning of December 10, you will receive an email from no-reply@ssbscott.com with instructions to set up your new Online Banking
  • You will be prompted to enter a Security Code, which will be the last four digits of your Tax ID
  • You will be prompted to establish a Username and Password
  • In order to make your information more secure, you will also be required to establish Security Questions and multi-factor authentication
  • Once setup is complete, simply go to ssbscott.com and LOGIN anytime
  • If we don’t have an email address on file for you, follow the ‘Brand New Users’ instructions or contact us
Brand New Users
Open

Interested in banking digitally? Beginning December 10, simply go to ssbscott.com and click the red LOGIN button, then click the NEW USER link and follow the prompts.

Mobile Banking App
Open

Our mobile banking app gives you a seamless experience across all your devices. Beginning December 10, simply do the following:

  • Delete the old Valley State Bank mobile app off your device
  • Download the Security State Bank mobile app by going to your device’s app store and search for “Security State Bank Scott City”
  • You will receive an email from no-reply@ssbscott.com with instructions to set up your new Online & Mobile Banking. Once setup is complete, you can use your same Username and Password for both Online Banking and our Mobile Banking App
Product Upgrades

Please review the following information for details on how your current accounts are affected by our system upgrades. We have made every effort to best align your existing account(s) with our Security State Bank products. After the conversion on December 9, 2024, if you feel a different account type would better suit your financial needs, just visit your local branch and we will be happy to change your account type to the one that is best for you.

Checking and Savings Accounts
Open
  • You will be transitioned into a new account, but no action is required. Please refer to the detailed mailing you should have received for your specific accounts
  • Your current account number(s) will stay the same, however, please use Security’s routing number when creating new auto pays, direct deposits, or reordering checks: 101114691
  • Your existing checks and deposit slips can continue to be used
  • Any direct deposits and automatic transfers will carry over. No action is required
  • You will receive a final paper statement off our old system with activity through December 6
Debit & ATM Cards

We are re-issuing new debit cards to all cardholders. Your new debit card will arrive in a separate mailing in late November. New debit cards can be activated beginning at 12:01am CT on December 9. Your current debit or ATM card will stop working at 3:00am CT on December 9.

Please note that ATM cards are not being re-issued and will no longer work after 3:00am CT on December 9.

CDs & IRAs

All terms will remain the same.

IRA account holders: Please note that we will not be offering State Withholdings going forward.

Loan Account Information

  • All terms will remain the same. All payments, including automatic payments, will continue as usual
  • Loan account numbers will stay the same. No action is needed on your part

Debit Card Controls

Decide when, where, and how your debit card is used. Turn your card on or off instantly, set transaction alerts and travel notices, and more.

Log in and go to the ‘Manage Cards’ tab to set your own controls.

Person-2-Person Payments (P2P)

Paying the babysitter or splitting the restaurant tab among your friends is easier than ever. With P2P you can securely send money to friends and family in a

  • Request or receive money with a mobile number or email address
  • No more checks or cash
  • No cost to use
  • A Security debit card is required to use P2P

Simply log in, go to the ‘Move Money’ tab, and follow the prompts.

eStatements

Cut down the paper clutter with eStatements. Any existing eStatements you have set up will carry over to our new system.

If you would like to sign up for eStatements, log in and go to ‘Documents’ in the menu and follow the prompts.

Mobile Wallet

Pay with your mobile device by connecting your new Security debit card to your mobile wallet. Available for:

Simply go to your device’s mobile wallet application and follow the instructions to add a card. You can also add your card to your mobile device right through Online Banking.

External Transfers
Open

Do you have accounts at other financial institutions? You can easily move money between your Security accounts and those you have elsewhere.

Please note that you will need to re-establish any existing external transfers you currently have setup.
